Morphing search combobox

Turns a compact search field into a filtered, keyboard-navigable suggestion lens. Typing filters options; arrows move active descendant; Enter selects and Escape closes. Provides true combobox semantics and suggestion navigation beyond the existing styled search field.

Accessibility notes

  • Every interactive target is a labelled native control with a visible focus treatment.
  • State changes are communicated through a polite text status and never by color alone.
  • The contained visual effects stop when the user requests reduced motion.
